LUNCHEON FOR INMATES OF RUMAH LOVE & CARE, NO. 1 JALAN S8, TAMAN SAKAPP, 43000 KAJANG IN CONJUNCTION WITH MID-AUTUMN FESTIVAL ON 23 SEPT 2012

·           Members met up at the Sg. Long Petronas station at 10.30am and thereafter proceeded to the home led by IPP Katherine.
·           Upon arrival at about 11.00am, members brought in the pampers and food items which consisted of fried mee, fried meehoon, foo chok tong sui [by Mdm Low and Mdm Cheong] mixed vegetables [Lion Irene], tofu with mince meat [Lion Yvonne] a packet of green tea chocolate [President Chwee Chin] as well as fruits, breads and pastries. 
·           Guests assisted in decorating the porch area with paper lanterns. 
·           Lunch was served to the residents at about 11.30 am some eat themselves while 2 needed feeding.
·           Guests Mr. Richard and Lucy generously distributed ang pows to the old folks, children and caretakers.
The project ended at about 1.00pm after some photographs session.

DAI VICTORIA EDUCATION CENTRE, 69-2 JALAN 3/93, 
OFF JALAN PALOONG, TAMAN MIHARJA, CHERAS, 55200 KUALA LUMPUR




PROJECT JOINTLY ORGANISED WITH OUR LEO MONASH UNIVERSITY MALAYSIA.  MONASH LEOS PROVIDED LUNCHEON, PLAY GAMES, PAINTED THE MAIN HALL, GOT DONATIONS FOR OATS BISCUITS, BUNS AND BREAD.  WHILE THE LIONS MADE DONATIONS IN KIND.  DAI VICTORIA VOLUNTEER TEACHERS MR. VICTOR MALSAWM & MR. HA BU MET US AND WAS OUR INTERPRETOR FOR THE DAY.  50 EXCITED &  WELL BEHAVED CHILDREN GREETED US WHEN WE ARRIVED AT THE CENTRE.  

SERVED LUNCH AT 11:30 AM.  CHILDREN LINED UP FOR THEIR SUMPTOUS MEAL AND WE MINGLE WITH THEM WHILE THEY WERE LUNCHING.  FEMALE LEOS ORGANISED A FEW INDOOR ICE BREAKING GAMES, THEREAFTER WE MOVED THEM TO THE OUTDOOR OPEN FIELD OPPOSITE THE CENTRE WITH MORE GAMES.  THE MALE LEOS ORGANISED THE PAINTING OF THE MAIN HALL.


THE CLUB DONATED A USED 21” PANASONIC TV, SANYO PORTABLE RADIO, 24 BOX FILES, STATIONERIES COMPRISING SOME WRITING PADS, PENCILS, PENS, GLUE, RULERS, STAPLES, STAPLES & ERASERS, T-SHIRTS, MATERIAL & VARIOUS SIZES BAGS.

AN EYE OPENING AND CHALLENGING PROJECT AS MAJORITY OF THE CHILDREN DO NOT SPEAK ENGLISH. ONLY ABOUT FIVE 12-13 YEARS OLD CHILDREN KNOWS BASIS ENGLISH.  NEVERTHELESS, THE CHILDREN HAD A WONDERFUL TIME WITH ASSISTANCE FROM THEIR TEACHER INTERPRETOR.

5/9/2012 Ex-Lion Cheng Swee Yin returned for a short vacation from Dubai and called on Lion Jessie to organise a pot luck dinner at her condo in Taman Tun, KL.  On invitation was Lions Chwee Chin, Jamie Chen, Nelson Wong, from PJ Metro were Eric Foong, David Chang, Shirley Koh, her good friend ex-Lion Jackie Loh, joining us was her sister Charissa Cheng.  Each brought a plate and we took the opportunity to celebrate Swee Yin & her sister Charissa's birthday coincidentally falls on 8 & 9 Sept respectively.  Yearly time to catch up on the latest development and hear her interesting stories from abroad.  

Here we would like to record a vote of SINCERE THANKS to dear Swee Yin for her continuous support toward our Lions Club Project Fund with her timely cash  donation of RM500 for 2012.
