Kelly Wong Pui Yan 12 years,  a standard 6 student at SJKC Serdang Baru 1, Kuala Lumpur has taken the first step to becoming an internationally recognized artist by winning a local competition jointly organised by the Lions Club Petaling Jaya Mutiara & Monash University Leo Club Malaysia.  
            Wong's poster will be among more than 400,000 entries submitted worldwide in the 28thAnnual Lions International Peace Poster contest.  Lions Clubs International is sponsoring the contest to emphasize the importance of world peace to young people everywhere. 
Wong’s poster was selected by judges Ms. Anne Law, Mr. Jason Chan and Mr. Michael Fong for its originality, artistic merit and best portrayal of the contest theme “Share Peace”
            Organising Chairman Lion Vincent Leong said he was impressed by the expression and creativity of the students.  “It’s obvious that these young people have strong ideas of what peace means to them.  I’m so proud that we were able to provide them with the opportunity to share their vision”
            Wong’s poster will advance to face stiff competition through the District, Multiple District and International rounds of competition if she is to be declared the International Grand Prize Winner.
            One grand prize winner and 23 merit award winners will be selected.  The grand prize includes a cash award of USD5,000 (or local equivalent), plus a trip for the winner and two family members to an award ceremony.  The 23 merit award winners will each receive a certificates and a cash award of US$500 (or local equivalent)
            “Our club is cheering for Wong’s poster advances in the competition and we hope that her vision will ultimately be shared with others around the world” Club President Lion Yvonne Cheong said.  We are also pleased to announce the 1st & 2nd runner-up went 11 year old  Ng Kar Weng of SJK [C] Ching Hwa & 11 year old Goh Meng Zha of SJKC Puay Chai respectively.
This year, the Peace Poster Annual event has been made possible by Tropicana City Mall, trophies sponsored by Tan Sri Dato Seri Ainum binti Mohamed Saaid & prizes of art related products sponsored by Mr. Wee Cheng Kiat. 
    Concurrently with the Peace Poster Contest, we conducted a coloring contest for two categories children aged 5 to 7 and 8 to 10 years.
